SERVINGS

INGREDIENTS

2 Slices of thick Bread (I prefer Sourdough)

1 Egg Yolk

1 Tablespoon of Vanilla

1/3 Cup of Plain or Vanilla Yogurt

1 TBSP Maple Syrup

2 TBSP Softened Butter + extra for frying

2 TBSP Sugar

A torch or broiler

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350º.

  2. On a baking sheet lined with parchment, put down two thick slices of bread, I prefer sourdough from a boule shape because it helps create a “bowl”.

  3. On the sheet pan, press down the middle of your bread to create a bowl-like shape. Do not remove any of the bread.

  4. Butter the edges of your bread.

  5. For the filling, take an egg and separate the yolk from the whites. Discard the whites and keep the yoke.

  6. In a bowl, add your egg yolk to your 1/3 cup of yogurt. Add in your 1 tbsp of maple syrup and 1 tbsp of vanilla and stir.

  7. Scoop your mixture into the prepared pieces of bread.

  8. Bake for 13 minutes

  9. Add about a tablespoon of sugar and use the torch or throw it back in the oven under a broiler until the sugar is brûléed.

Buon Appetito!
