SERVINGS

INGREDIENTS
2 lbs San Marzano Tomatoes - I used 2 big cans - 1 Cento and 1 Nina
3 TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt - to taste
4-5 Cloves of Garlic - Roasted Garlic Paste or Cloves
1/2 Cup Fresh Basil
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, smash up the San Marzano Tomatoes as much or as little as you’d like. If you want a very smooth sauce, blend your tomatoes in a blender.
In a large sauce pan, on medium heat, drizzle 3 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and then add in your Garlic cloves or Paste.
Brown your garlic until it is just toasted and sizzling and then add in your tomatoes and salt, stir.
Tear up about a 1/2 cup of fresh basil and drop in your leaves, stirring. If you like it fine, chop it up beforehand.
Stir regularly and let your sauce simmer on low for 25 minutes+. However long it takes for you to reach the desired taste and consistency.
Pour over a pot of fresh pasta or let it cool and put it in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. This has no preservative so it will not stay good for much longer than that.
You may can this recipe, just pour into a jar, add a 1/4 TBSP of lemon juice to the top and finishing canning it as you would.
Buon Appetito!
