Honey Bacon Brussels Sprouts

Looking for a fabulous side dish that will come together in less than 30 minutes? These honey, bacon, balsamic Brussels Sprouts will blow your family’s minds.  My kids (even my picky ones) LOVE these.  They’re sweet, savory, crispy, caramelized and absolutely delicious!

Honey Bacon Brussels Sprouts | Mila Martinico

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Brussels Sprouts - Cut in Half

1 Half of a Red Onion - Diced

8 Strips of Bacon - Chopped

1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika

1 Tsp of Garlic Powder

1/2 Tsp Ground Mustard

1 TBSP Honey

1 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar

1 TBSP Olive Oil

Salt to Taste

Pepper to Taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare your ingredients before you begin cooking.  Cut 1lb of Brussels Sprouts in half, dice half of Red Onion and chop up 8 strips of Bacon.

  2. Place your skillet on medium heat and drizzle about a tablespoon of olive oil to coat the pan. Add in your chopped bacon and diced red onions and stir every few minutes to brown them evenly.  Once your bacon is starting to crisp up and your onions are translucent and browned on the edges, add in your brussels sprouts and spread them evenly.

  3. Drizzle 1 Tablespoon of Honey over the mixture and add in 1/2 tsp of Smoked Paprika, 1 tsp of Garlic Powder and 1/2 tsp of Ground Mustard and stir.

  4. Add in 1 tablespoon of Balsamic Vinegar and stir to combine. . If you need, turn down the heat just a bit and allow the sprouts to caramelize in the honey and balsamic.  Let it cook for about five minutes or until the Brussels are golden brown and crispy on the edges.

  5. Remove from heat and add salt and pepper to taste.  Serve and enjoy!
